Good question! As I get older, I appreciate the quiet peaceful morning so I like to not wear hearing aids until I ready to go out for my day. I turn off my hearing aids to poop sometimes(fyi, not tmi). I would do so well in outer space. I like listening most of the time, but since everything is so saturated with sound clips and songs everywhere you go, I enjoy the silence when I can.
